All you need to do is make a query bring in the table you're using and do the age calculation. Base the form on that query, and the age will be available.

Thanks Adam but normally users would want the age (say of an Adult Club member) in the Customer form where all their other data, address, email, phone number etc, comes from  a customer or some other table. It's then not so simple to add the age from the Query.

Build your query with the fields from the Customer Table (use the * to bring in all the fields) and add the Age calculated field. Save the Query and make the Record Source of the Form whatever you saved the Query as. Then add the fields as normal from the Field List. Age will be available along with all the other fields from the Customer Table that were added to the Query.

Hi Peter,
It is really quite simple. Follow Kevin's advice. Also watch Richard's video https://599cd.com/blog/display-article.asp?ID=1418

Hi Peter,

Richard also has an extended cut video that shows another formula that is 100% accurate in calculating age. If you put that formula in a query that will populate a textbox or field with the correct age based on the date of birth.

Thanks to everyone for your help. As an 81 year old but a bit of a Access novice, I still expect Access to be easier, even though I know that it's really powerful and complex. Like everything though, as knowledge and understanding of Access grows, things make more sense and what seemed difficult starts to seem easier and more logical. The Forum, as well as Richard's expertise helps though. For me. learning Access and hopefully VBA, as brain exercise,  it's a bit like learning French, you start with a few words but getting fluent takes a lot of work. Thanks again guys.
