Separate First Name

Use an Update Query to Separate First Name from Field

If you haven't had this happen before, you will have it happen sooner or later. You receive a table where the user has entered First Name and Last Name in the same field. Of course, this isn't the right way to build a table. These should be separate fields, but how do we separate them? Well, in this tutorial, I'll show you how to pull the First Name field out using an Update Query and the Instr and Left functions. To get the Last Name, see my notes below.
