Education is not the piling on of learning, information, data, facts, skills, or abilities... but is rather making visible what is hidden as a seed.

7/31/04 I've added some sample lesson segments from our FrontPage 103 course to the Online Demo page. Feel free to view them at your leisure.
7/30/04 We've just finished the new issue of ComputerFAQs, our newsletter that has questions and answers, tips and tricks, and all kind of good stuff in it for computer enthusiasts. Check it out, and let us know what you think. Ask a question or two, browse the archives, and enjoy!
7/29/04 I've updated the FrontPage 103 outline on the Web site, so you can see what the course covers before deciding to purchase it. You can read all about it on the FrontPage page (no pun intended). Furthermore, even though we released FP103 over a week ago, we never sent out an email notice to existing customers with free course credits with instructions for obtaining your free copy. That email is going out today. You can also check out the Free Courses page for more information. If you are not an existing customer, or you don't have free course credits on your account, we still have a special offer for you if you're interested in FP103. Click here for details.
7/28/04 Whew! I finally got through all of the email and other issues that came up while I was out of the office. That will teach me to take a vacation again! Anyhow, the FrontPage 103 Handbook is now online. If you previously purchased this course with the handbook, you can download it now from our downloads page.

We also had an issue come up yesterday where our download server went offline. It has been fixed now, but we added a new email address to the download screen so that you can email the Webmaster (often me, but whomever happens to be here in the server room will get it) in case you have any problems connecting. Let us know.

What's next? I'm working on the next issue of our long-overdue ComputerFAQs newsletter. I haven't released an issue since March, so it has been too long. We have many thousands of subscribers, and I get at least a handfull of emails every week from people asking when the next issue is coming out. If you don't currently subscribe, you should visit the site and check it out. It's a newsletter full of great Q&A, tips, and tricks.

Continuing on with the Web Design tutorials we've been working on, the next 599CD Course we're working on right now is HTML 101. We've gotten a lot of positive feedback from FrontPage 102 and 103, and many people want to learn how to edit HTML directly. That's what this next course is going to teach you - regardless of what program you use to edit your web site.

From the looks of our Online Poll, you guys really want to see more Photoshop, Microsoft Access, and Excel courses. I won't disappoint you... we've got more of those in the works. As soon as HTML 101 is completed, we'll move on to whichever one of those three is in the lead. FrontPage is close in 4th position, so for those of you who want to see the FrontPage courses continue next, make sure to register your vote by this weekend.

7/25/04 The problem with the FP103 installation passwords has been corrected. Please log back in to your customized download page, and you should see a new password there. Sorry for the confusion. That was one of the last things I did last week before I left for vacation, and I didn't double-check it. Handbook will be online shortly.
7/24/04 I'm back. I see here that I have a huge stack of emails to go through, so if you've tried to email me personally over the last week or so, I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. There are also a few bugs that I see people have run into getting passwords and download codes. I'll make sure to address those problems immediately. Otherwise, I hope to get back up and running Monday morning, and get the FP103 manual finished and online for you.
7/15/04 OK, kids... Uncle Richard is going to be out of the office for the next few days, so make sure to behave yourselves while I'm gone. FrontPage 103 and the FrontPage Seminar videos have been added to the downloads page, so if you purchased them previously, you may download them now. You may also order any of the FP101, 102, or 103 videos from the order page. Now, while I'll be out of the office for a few days, Jennifer, Denise, and our other customer service reps will be here working (ha ha ha) so if you have any questions, feel free to submit them using our contact page, and I'm sure one of them will get back to you. You won't see any updates here for a little while (as I'm the only one who usually updates this page) but as soon as I get back in the office, I'll update you on what's been going on here (which won't be much while I'm gone... you know... while the cat's away the mice will play). The only bad news: I was unable to finish the handbook for FrontPage 103. I will make it my top priority to complete it as soon as I get back to the office. Be good. Keep learning!
7/14/04 FrontPage 103 is finished. It will be available in the downloads section later today.
7/13/04 We're putting the finishing touches on FrontPage 103 today. I hope to have it completed and released tomorrow morning.

Also, I've received some emails from several of you expressing concerns over the fact that we're using Paypal to process our credit card payments. As I mentioned earlier back on 7/1/04, we're in the process of switching credit card merchant accounts (these things take time) so we're using Paypal as a temporary solution. You don't need to set up a Paypal account to process your credit card payment with Paypal. If you don't want to use Paypal, you can either mail us a check, or you can wait for our new credit card processing system to come online (hopefully by the end of the month). We will send out an email to all customers with unpaid orders and post an update here as soon as things are back to normal. Personally, I've used Paypal both for business and personal use, and I've never had any problems with them. In fact, Paypal is very good with security and buyer protection.

7/12/04 The FrontPage 102 outline has been updated on the Web site under the course listings. Now you can see exactly what FP102 covers.
7/11/04 The FrontPage 102 Handbook is now available in the downloads section. If you are an MYOLP member, or you purchased our FrontPage Package Deal you may download this handbook now. Other customers may purchase FrontPage 102 from our order page. We are currently in the process of sending out an email to customers with course credits for instructions on how to get your FREE copy. We're also updating the outlines on the Web site to accurately reflect the content covered in FP102. You'll notice that there's not much up there right now. I like to wait until after the Handbook is finished to update the outline because I can use all of the screen shots from the handbook on the Web site.
7/10/04 You may now order FrontPage 102 from the order page. We've also made it possible to order FrontPage 103 as well as the handbooks for both FP102 and FP103, although these are not yet available. We expect to have all of these materials online Monday or Tuesday. FrontPage 102 is, however, available for immediate download. We are currently in the process of sending out an email to customers with course credits for instructions on how to get your FREE copy.
7/9/04 FrontPage 102 is now available in the download section. If you are an MYOLP member, or you purchased our FrontPage Package Deal earlier this week, you may download it now. For all other customers, we will be adding FrontPage 102 to our standard order form later this evening.
7/9/04 Yes, we're a little behind schedule due to a few technical glitches, but the new FrontPage 102 is finally completed! The last few edits on the videos were finished this evening, and FP102 will be available for download later today (after I get a few hours of sleep - it's currently 2:16 am here in New York). MYOLP members will get an email later today when the course is posted. All other 599CD customers will also get an email with instructions on how to order this course. If you have credits on your account for a FREE course, we'll send you the code for that as well. It's been a long and crazy week here at 599CD. The holiday backed us up a little bit, plus my grandma was in the hospital following a surgery last week, so I had to go and visit her as often as I could. I apologize for the delay in getting this course out. But, the good news is that FP103 is also almost completed as well, and I hope to have it released this weekend too. My goal is to release two or three more FrontPage courses, then a course on HTML, and then move back to Word, Excel, Access, or Photoshop - depending on whichever course is leading in the Online Poll for "most popular course." We'll see how the votes tally later next week (hint: get in there and vote now!)
7/6/04 We discovered a few problems with the FP102 videos while proofing them today. I have to re-record a few small segments before we can release the course. We should have everything finished tomorrow (fingers crossed). Looks like I underestimated the time it would take to finish this one - and overestimated the time I would have available to work on it over the Holiday weekend! Also, for those customers who were still waiting on Microsoft Word 101 - 201 hardcover manuals to go out, we just shipped a bunch of them today. You should have them in a few days.
7/5/04 I'm not supposed to be working today (don't tell my wife), but I'm here in the office today finishing up the final touches on FrontPage 102. I see that many of you have taken advantage of our FrontPage Package Deal. We'll be sending out the details for those tomorrow. Some of you have also emailed in asking what's available for those of you who have already purchased FrontPage 101. Well, we tried to make the price of the Package Deal so low that even if you've already purchased FP101, you'll still save... however, if you don't want to purchase the package, you can always purchase FP102 and FP103 when they're released. I'll also be sending out an email notice to all of our customers who have free credits on their accounts with info on how you can get your free copy of FP102 with your credit. So, for those of you who don't have to work today, enjoy your day off. For me, it's back to work. More info to come tomorrow!
7/4/04 Happy Independence Day!
7/3/04 We have just put together a fantastic package deal for people wanting to learn how to develop Web sites using Microsoft FrontPage. If you're interested in learning how to build or edit your own Web site, FrontPage is the perfect program for you - and this package deal is the perfect way to learn FrontPage. For more information, click here for our FrontPage Package Deal. This package is only available for a limited time.
7/2/04 The FrontPage 101 Handbook has been completed and published up to our Web site for download. MYOLP members may download this handbook immediately. We do not currently have a page to allow people to order just handbooks without the accompanying courses. If you are planning on ordering FrontPage 102 when it is released this weekend (or if you have a credit for a free copy), you will have the option of ordering the FP101 and FP102 handbooks when you place your order. Otherwise, if you are not planning on ordering FP102, you can order just the FP101 handbook for $3.99 by clicking on this link: Order FP101 Handbook Only. Again, if you're planning to order the FP102 new release, we recommend you wait for that course to be released sometime this weekend. We'll send out an email notice to all current customers.

7/1/04 We are currently in the process of switching credit card processing systems. Due to the switchover, all credit card transactions on our site will temporarily go through PayPal. We have used PayPal by itself for almost two years now, and are very happy with it. It is fast, safe, and secure, and you can use it to process your Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, or Discover transactions as well. You will be transferred to the PayPal site after verifying your order. You do not need to set up a PayPal account to process your credit card transaction with PayPal. Just follow the prompts.
