I'm getting a lot of people asking about Office 2007 courses. Yes, I'm working on them. I expect to have the first batch of them out in December.
Until then, any Microsoft Office Courses purchased after November 5, 2007 will get a free upgrade to the same class when our Office 2007 edition is released (for example, if you buy Excel 101 today, you will get a free copy of our Excel 101 for Excel 2007 when it is released). Prior sales excluded.
Yes, the menus have changed significantly in the new versions of Office applications (Word, Excel, even Access). But, once you figure out WHERE Microsoft moved the functions, the actual USAGE of the program is just about the same.
Microsoft just decided to have fun with us by moving everything around.
People are also asking me if they should bite the bullet and buy the new version of Office. My standard answer when anyone asks me if they should upgrade is this: does the new software have features you NEED? If so, then upgrade.
From what I've seen, Office 2007 doesn't offer many significant improvements for the AVERAGE user. It's just a lot different, that's all. I'll be reporting more about whether or not you should upgrade in the coming weeks... but rest assured that if you're still using Office 2003, XP, or even 2000, you're not missing much.
