Recover ACCDB from ACCDE By Richard Rost I get asked all the time if there's a way to get back the original ACCDB file if all you have is the encrypted ACCDE file. The short answer is NO. That's why you should keep good backups. However, if you're desperate, and you only have the ACCDE, and you lost the original ACCDB file, there is a company called Everything Access that can reverse-engineer the file to regain the "source code" VBA and design of the database elements (forms, reports, etc.) however expect to pay a premium for their service. They also (rightfully so) require you to provide proof of ownership. I have never used their service personally, but I've heard good things from people who have. I plan on testing their service for myself one of these days. Your best bet, however, is to try to locate the original ACCDB file, even if it's just a backup. RR
