UPDATE: Everything is back online now but I'm leaving this here for you as a reminder to BACK UP YOUR IMPORTANT FILES OFTEN!
Big Bertha's demise has prompted me to make sure all of my backups are up-to-date. I haven't done a FULL backup of my main office server in several months now.
All of the critical data (databases, documents, etc.) is backed up nightly across my network (and off-site) but the primary C: drive with the operating system and all of my configuration settings hasn't been backed up since last summer. This means that if my SERVER were to take a dump, I'd have a LOT of restoration work to do.
So... I'm taking the server down right now for a full backup. I like to keep a DRIVE IMAGE of the C: drive just in case. This should take less than an hour. You will not be able to log into your account while the server is down. You'll be fine as long as you don't click on the LOG OFF link. If you do, you won't be able to get back in. Provided you don't log off, your user account info (including all of your classes) is stored on the WEB server in a cache database. So you should be able to still watch everything that is on your account as of the LAST time you logged in.
Got it? I'll have everything back online shortly.
UPDATES:
Well, it's running pretty slow. After 13 minutes, it's at 4%. It's showing an estimated time of completion of 5 hours. I doubt it will take that long. I've seen it take forever to run to 10% and then finish in 5 minutes. :)
Progress is 38% after 32 minutes. 55 minutes to go.
See, it's picking up speed now... 66% after 50 minutes. 27 minutes to go.
There... all done. Only took 2.5 hours. Not too bad.
