Heading up to Brooksville, Florida, this weekend to see the Ultimate Rush Tribute band on Saturday. Should be interesting since it's an outdoor event at a winery. We went up to St. Augustine last year to see this group play, and they were fantastic. They sound just like the real thing. As all of you who watch my videos know, I absolutely love Rush. They've been my favorite band since I was young, so this should be great.
Then on Sunday, we're going to try to find a sports bar in the area to watch the Superb Owl, and I'll be back Monday afternoon. My fiance is from Philly, so while I try not to take sides, I like to see her happy, so, "Go Eagles!" - Please no hate mail from KC fans. I'm originally from Buffalo, so you know what we always say: There's always next year.
The moderators should be able to hold down the fort while I'm gone, but if there's anything urgent, feel free to contact me. I'll be checking customer service emails, though there's not a lot I can do remotely. I can answer simple questions, but I can't get into my Access database because I'm not bringing my laptop - well, I can get into it with my phone, but it's a pain on that tiny screen.
I don't bring my laptop with me on short trips anymore. I brought it on our New Year's cruise, and we were gone for a week, and I didn't even take it out of the case, which was great. I love what I do, but sometimes it's nice to unplug from technology once in a while and recharge your batteries. I know "unplug to recharge" sounds weird. I guess I'm solar powered. LOL.
I'll have my phone with me, so I can still answer emails and handle small things, and yes, if there's an emergency, I can log on to the server remotely and/or get into my Access database, but doing all that on a tiny screen is a pain. Unless it's an emergency, it can wait until I get back. I can't - I won't - do "real work" stuff. I use Chrome Remote Desktop, which I've shown you all how to use before. It's a great tool and works on any device, but it's not exactly easy manipulating an Access database on a tiny phone screen.
So, that's my plan for the weekend. What about you? What have you got going on?
Thomas Gonder yeah, the most I'll do is login and reboot the server remotely if it locks up or something - which has happened once or twice in the past few years. I do bring my tablet... but yeah, no bueno to work on.

Thanks for posting that image. I'd forgotten that the Super Bowl was this weekend.
Yeah, I'm not a huge Foozball fan myself (mama says it's The Devil) but I do enjoy the commercials.

Now back to Chrome Remote Desktop. Because of all the noise about security concerns on Chrome, I stopped using it. Going with Edge instead. I'm used to it now. I've used Zoom to be able to share the screen. However, I'm a bit miffed at the new price of Zoom and I don't need all the wild and confusing features. Has anyone seen a remoting app (with voice/chat) that works WELL for Edge or even an installable app that doesn't cost an arm & leg?

I use RemotePC, it looks like it supports voice/chat, although I don't use them.

Isn't Chrome and Edge basically the same browsere in many ways. Examble they both use the same browser engine.
So many people complain about companies using cookies to target ads to you based on your preferences and other sites that you visit. Personally, I like that. I like seeing ads that are relevant to my interests; it's better than seeing ads that are completely random and don't apply to me at all.
I don't want to see ads for diapers and things I'll never buy. I'd rather see an ad for that Rush 50th Anniversary Collector's Box Edition that I just purchased because of an ad, LOL.
