Computer Learning Zone CLZ Access Excel Word Windows

If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle... It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken.

Mastering AI Prompts

If you've been around these parts for any time now, you probably know that - like most people - I'm fascinated by AI, especially with ways to integrate it with Access. But learning how to talk with AI in general is both a skill and an art form. Crafting the perfect prompt will get you much better results.

I came across an article today about how to get better results from ChatGPT by improving the way you phrase your prompts. The key is providing clear context, being specific, and structuring your requests properly. Some of the main tips include stating the format you want, defining the tone, and keeping your language natural. If you need reasoning or a step-by-step explanation, ask for it. And do not be afraid to refine your prompts as you go.

AI is only as good as the instructions it receives. The clearer your request, the better the response.

If you would like to see me make more videos on AI, let me know below.

Also, I'm curious to know how you use AI - with Access, and in general. Share your comments below.

AI still has a long way to go with rendering text in images. They finally got fingers down pretty good, though. LOL

I Have been using AI write subroutines and functions to save time.
Form example i asked AI to write a subroutine to list all files in a directory starting with IDCard. Chat gpt gave me a sub that does it perfectly. I can do it but it saves time.

It works nice as i see programming as a lego game.  It easier to use blocks.   Chat GPT makes mistakes so i test the blocks before building more complicated structures.

More videos please.

I use AI now more than I use Google. I just integrated an AI solution to an existing customer. They have 100s of Catalogs that there sales people need to consult to get to the correct Parts (Products). I load the catalogs to AI and the user asks his question and here comes the answer. The most interesting thing is the format AI produced is superior to the original Catalog.

I'd like to see more on AI also. I've been using it to write by Subroutines. It's a LOT faster than me, and most of the time works just like I wanted on the first try. I sometimes have to ask that it be modified, but that does not happen as much now as when I first started using ChatGPT

Which platforms are you all using the most?  ChatGPT, GROK, Open AI?

I use OpenAI's API for integrated stuff with my website and database. I use ChatGPT when I want to have a conversation with the AI that goes back and forth. The only way to accomplish that with an integrated solution right now is to send the ENTIRE conversation thread back to the AI each call. That gets expensive (and slow) LOL.

I was recently using Microsoft Copilot to generate blocks of code for both Access and Word. I found it much easier to think of the interaction between myself and the AI bot as an online chat between friends talking in natural language. When I asked for a certain line of code I'd give it a try in the TechHelp template. If it worked, I would integrate it into my database. If I ran into an issue with the code, I would say so in plain terms "Ok, that didn't work. I inserted that code and the line 'blah blah blah' threw up an error saying "this" and press enter. The bot then comes back with a modified version of the same code block to try until it finally worked for me. I would like to see more on AI as others have mentioned though.
