Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of magic.
Saw this meme today and had to laugh. It shows a massive dam labeled "Global Robot Takeover," being held back by a single label: "Me saying 'Thank you' to ChatGPT." Below that? "The World."
Funny, sure. But it speaks to a bigger issue: fear of progress.
People have always been afraid of new technology. The internet? People were terrified that connecting all our computers would lead to Skynet. That never happened. Before that, folks were afraid that computers would take away all the jobs from bookkeepers, architects, and engineers. Before that, the industrial revolution was going to put everyone out of work and destroy society.
But guess what? We adapted. We learned. We evolved.
Artificial intelligence is just the next step in a long line of innovations. The key is to embrace it, not fear it. Use it wisely. Learn how it works. Make it work for you. Saying "thank you" to your AI assistant may not stop the robots from rising up someday, but it does show that you're willing to coexist.
Or, as Rush put it in Tom Sawyer, "He knows changes aren't permanent... but change is."
Cat's are secretly plotting to kill all humans. I've had cats my entire live, up until about 5 years ago. Now I'm a dog guy. You know the difference between a dog and a cat, right?
A dog thinks, "he takes care of me, he loves me, he feeds me... he must be a god!"
A cat thinks, "he takes care of me, he loves me, he feeds me... I must be a god!"

And a dog will fetch that stick you threw.
A cat will tell you to go get it yourself.
