I would like to know if you could create higher quality videos. I download video tutorials from other sites having to do with photography and the files are large, but I dont mind because I know the quality is worth it. Better sound also would be great have you ever thought of doing this?
Reply from Richard Rost:
I've thought about this a lot. I've tried to strike a balance between video quality and file size. I used to record a lot smaller than the videos I have now. I record at 640x360 now. I used to record at 448x300 back when I started. I've always wanted to keep my videos so people could have the video window open at the same time as the program (Access, Excel, whatever) to work on them side by side. Watch the video... build the database. I don't want people to have to switch back and forth between them.
I try to show the portions of the screen that are necessary and only that. Who needs to see THE WHOLE WINDOW when all of the action is happening in a small area of it anyway. Do you think that you need to see MORE of the screen? You tell me.
As far as sound quality goes, is it really that bad? I'm recording with CD-audio quality now. I used to get complaints that it was "too bassy" so I removed some of the bass to get the sound quality that I have now... which I think sounds OK. But again, does anyone else feel that it needs to be better?
I'm always open for suggestions, and I value your feedback. YOU GUYS are the ones who watch the videos. I don't. I just make 'em. :)
