Starfleet captains are like children. They want everything right now and they want it their way. But the secret is to give them only what they need, not what they want.
Does your course cover multi-user and record locking? I don't see this in the course outlines even in the advanced courses. Thanks
Reply from Richard Rost:
I really haven't spent a lot of time on the subject because Access supports multiple users right out of the box. There's really nothing special you have to do except place the database in a shared folder. Access handles the rest. This is, however, on my list of topics to cover in the upcoming Advanced lessons. There are a lot of topics like this that I didn't cover the first time through if they weren't crucial. There are some advanced multi-user issues that I will address, such as preventing a user from editing a record that another user is currently editing... which is the only real complaint I have with Access' default record locking.
