I've been using the direct connection, running a USB cable from my Go Pro Hero 3+ Black Edition and my Laptop computer. Maybe I didn't complete connection but I had video file corruption. Whereas moving the micro SD card from the camera directly to the computer via an adapter results in beautiful color video files. Thanks, Jerry
