OpenAI has added plugin and connected-app support to ChatGPT Voice on web, iOS, and Android. That means a voice conversation can now work with the plugins and app connections already available to your account instead of being limited to spoken chat alone.
Voice is also now available in ChatGPT Work on web and mobile. OpenAI says users can speak requests to create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets, use connected apps, or work in a browser. If a Work task is still running when the voice call ends, it can continue in text.
This is a practical step toward hands-free AI workflows rather than just voice Q&A, especially for people who already use ChatGPT with email, files, calendars, and other connected services. I asked "Google help me find the closest (at this point I tripped over the curb) $%^@ aww ^&%#" and when I got back up and fetched my phone it read "I can't find $%^@ and ^&%# at this time!"
