The issue I'm having with this code is that some email addresses get inserted properly and others do not. For example, with Donald Barker the email address looks like this in the listbox: [email protected]#mailto:[email protected]
What would cause that extra mailto text to be inserted into the Email field? This happens with the Richard Rost customer as well.
Here is my relevant code. Just control names and variable names are slightly different.
I don't think you noticed this problem due to the listbox column width that you selected. Increase the email column width to a larger size to see the problem.
You're right. Good catch. Honestly, in the 8 years since I recorded that seminar, I've moved to the standpoint where I tell people to NOT use the Hyperlink data type at all. It's just too messy. I prefer storing email addresses and web URLs as plain text and then later on I can show tricks to make that into a hyperlink.
