What can be done in "massaging" these items?  2)How to calculate performance of a portfolio vs. a standard metric like the Dow Industrials; How to use IRR, calculate it and derive meaning; Same for Std Deviation. Charting as I know it I can handle, but there are chart techniques I am unaware of; what are they? How do the pros utilize EXCEL? My biggist problem is not knowing what others do with the program, i.e. what can be done.  How do I cause data to be automatically input  into the cells such as I listed above? What formulas have others thought up for analyzing stock and overall market performance?Perhaps the other three Market students might have some ideas.
