I have several VB6 courses that I'm planning on releasing. VB103 is almost finished and that uses VB6. There are a TON of programmers still using VB6, so there's still plenty of demand for instruction in it.
VB.NET is a whole different language - almost completely different from VB6. I am planning on making some VB.NET classes soon - but I'm not sure if I'll use 2005 or 2008. I'll probably jump right to 2008.
I know there is a Visual Studio Express 2008 version available from Microsoft for FREE that you can download just to learn the language. It's missing some advanced features, but it's fine for beginners.
