From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, "Look at that!"
Sorry but you are going to have to mess with it some more. I just found out if you constantly keep updating your web pages Google favors your site because you keep updating. What a pain. It will move you up because you updated not because you changed your meta tags Of course you could always say to hell with it but I bet you don't. Best wishes Alan Hill
Reply from Richard Rost:
That's one of the reasons I wanted to make sure my home page has a feed of the blog titles and forum posts. I want to make sure it stays constantly changing. I really haven't played with my meta tags much. I changed them about a year ago, and never noticed a big change in my Google rank. Then a few days ago I noticed (by accident) that we were on page 1. I had to check on a few different PCs to make sure this wasn't some crazy cookie action. It was real. Then a few days later it was gone... back to page 11. It's almost impossible to "game" Google. There is no magic formula. And I do have to say I'm not at ALL impressed with their search results. The web pages at the top of their listings are almost NEVER the pages with the best content. I routinely find myself digging to page 2 or 3.
