The purpose of education is to show people how to learn for themselves. The other part of it is that you need to reach that state of independence and self-reliance.
Im really happy to hear that you made it through Ian with no injuries or major property loss. I have a friend Ive known since grade school who moved to Florida years ago to Punta Gorda, and I havent been able to contact him yet ( maybe he has Verizon). He has a good head on his shoulders so Im sure hell be Ok.
Even though Im an Ohio native, I know the full force and fury of a hurricane. I was in Air Force tech school at Keesler AFB outside Biloxi, MS in August 1969 when hurricane Camille made landfall in the middle the night. Camille had sustained wind speed just over 200 mph, with gusts up to 250 mph. With that in my memory, you Floridians are a special breed. Id have pulled up roots after just one tropical storm.
Stay safe and good luck rebuilding your infrastructure.
Thanks Gary. Yeah I didn't get my cell service back until earlier today. Aside from having no power or water, everything is fine for us. Lots of people lost everything in this storm, but that's the risk you take living down here, especially along the coast.
