Happy Holidays Richard... Have you ever thought about going the XLR route? Using a podcast type microphone that uses and XLR input and plugging into something like at GoXLR? The setup it more expensive, but the sound is night and day and this being your professional job I would definitely recommend it. I use the Rode Podcast Mic (about 100.00) and the GOXLR mini (Preamp) which runs about 250.00 but you could get yourself a Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB Audio Interface (Gen 3) for about $110.00 and that would be all you need to get amazing audio quality. The number one thing they say on YouTube is audio quality is more important than video quality if you have poor audio thay will change the channel so why not invest in good quality. Just my 2 cents :)

Thank you very much for the info. I just got the new microphone and I'm going to post a test of it in just a minute so let me know what you think. I think the quality of this new mic I just got is more than good enough for video tutorials but you tell me.

I think the new mic is definitely better than the last one, I am no audio engineer but I do think there is some low background noise or humming I hear (maybe just my end?) that could probably be taken out very easily in all kinds of programs, I would love to play around with a sample of this clip you just posted to see if the simple auto settings that DaVinci Resolve has (the editor I use) would clean that up with one mouse click) I will screen record to show you as well what Resolve has just added in their new version.

I think part of the problem is that its on a stand on my desk. I just ordered a boom so I can bring it closer to my face.
