Yeah, I've lost faith in antivirus software ever since McAfee tried telling me a couple of years ago that MY OWN PROGRAM (my video player software) had malware in it. I made a version that included an update monitor... so it would read a file on my web site to determine if there was a new version available, and then offer to download it. McAfee saw this as a threat and started throwing up a warning message. Hundreds of my customers complained overnight causing a nightmare for me. I ended up removing the feature and just displaying the message in a web browser window. Point is: antivirus programs aren't perfect. If you make regular backups and ONLY download from sites you trust, you should be fine.
