So apparently the guys over at Access Forever made a blog post that Microsoft has released the new Monaco SQL Editor for Access, and it looks pretty cool with colors and all that. I have not tried it yet, as I have manual updates set on and I've been out of town for the past week.
So if any of you have tried it, let me know what you think. Post your thoughts down below. I'm still gun-shy on updating Access since I've had to roll back a few times with recent updates, but I'll probably get to it in the next couple of days.
I only have it in my home office computer, my work computer will not be updated by our MIS department for months.

As it says Access Forever the Font Size reverts back to the default size when you resize the Editor window. This is only when using the shortcut keys Ctrl + and Ctrl -. If you change the Font Size via the Command Palette it retains the size until the window is closed.
I would hope for an option in Access Options to set the default Font Size. Probably won't happen, but you never know.

The color-coded parentheses are nice, since Access puts in tons of extra parentheses in the SQL. It helps if you have really long SQLs, which I often do.

I have a database that I've used since 2007, but now all of a sudden it will take a 2-3 minutes to load. Once loaded, it works fine. I've been trying to rebuild it which I'm beginning to feel will take the rest of my life. My question to y'all is... One of the queries I was going to convert to VBA last night hangs when loading, and even if I wait 5 minutes, will never load. Others take sometimes up to a minute to be able to view. Could this be what is causing it to take so long to load the database, and if so is there an option to turn off this new feature?

Go to File -- Options -- Current Database -- Uncheck Enable Monaco SQL Editor

Thank you Kevin! This fixed the viewing of my code, but for some reason my database still loads super slow. Oh well, I've been wanting to update it from macros to VBA anyway. At least now I can see my SQL for the queries. You have made my day. Now I can stop stressing about it and go start my prep work for tomorrow's dinner. After cooking for one for so long, cooking for 15 is going to be quite a challenge.
