If you're having a problem, you can send me a
step-by-step image recording of exactly what's going on by using the
Microsoft Problem Steps Recorder. It is a little application that has
been included in every version of Windows since Windows 7. See the video to
the right for instructions on how to use it. If you can't watch the video,
follow these steps below: Open your Control
Panel
Windows 7 users: click on Start > Control
Panel
Windows 8 users: from the DESKTOP,
press WINDOWS-C to open the Charms Bar, then click on Settings, Control
Panel
Now in the SEARCH box on the top of the
Control Panel, type in "recorder" and you should see the application titled
"Record steps to reproduce a problem." Click on that.

This opens up the Problem Steps Recorder. Now
open up the application you're having problems with. Let's say for this
example, it's Excel. So get the Recorder and Excel open together. Click on
the Start Record button and then walk through reproducing your
problem.

When you're done, click the Stop Record
button. The Save As window will appear. Save the resulting ZIP file
to your Desktop, and then email that to me. It will include a
recording of everything you've done. It's only screen shots, so I won't hear
you talking at all, but it will at least SHOW me what you're doing
and what's happening.
IMPORTANT: If you
are having a problem getting your 599CD videos to play, then please feel
free to send me a recording of exactly what's happening. I consider this a
customer service issue, and help of this nature is always free.
However, if your problem has to do with a question about Excel, Access, your
computer, or something else unrelated to getting my tutorials to work, then
I will only look at your screen recording if you submit it with a
PAID TechHelp question. Sorry, but there just
aren't enough hours in the day for me to help everyone for free. I wish I
could.
You can find my current email address at the bottom
of THIS PAGE.
