8/26/04 The FrontPage 201 Handbook is now online and available to download. We've also updated the full outline for FrontPage 201. We'll have the FP202 outline updated shortly.
8/25/04 Our new credit card processing system is finally in. If you've been holding off placing your order because you don't want to use Paypal, you can now go ahead... our actual credit card system for accepting Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover is now online. Go ahead and place your order. If you have an order currently waiting for payment in the system, you will receive an email today with payment instructions. Thanks for your patience.
8/24/04 FrontPage 202 is now online for download for MYOLP members and for those customers who have purchased it. The handbooks for FP201 and 202 will be available shortly.
8/19/04 FrontPage 201 and 202 are now available on our Order Page. These are both excellent courses that will teach you how to build forms to gather information from your visitors, and make your site interactive. FrontPage 201 is available for immediate download. FrontPage 202 should be available Monday, August 23rd.
8/17/04 The FrontPage 201 course is now finished, and is available in the download section for MYOLP members. We should have it available for the general public to order soon. We're also nearly finished with FrontPage 202 as well. We hope to have that ready tomorrow. Once both of those courses are finished, we'll prepare the printable handbooks for each of them. We expect all of this to be completed by the end of the week, and then (as of right now) it's on to a couple of new Microsoft Access courses. Access is narrowly beating Photoshop in the online poll for the next new class. Excel is pulling in at third place.
8/17/04 The videos for FrontPage 201 are recorded and are in the editing room. We're expecting to have the course on the Web site tomorrow for MYOLP members. We've also got most of FrontPage 202 recorded as well, so we might be looking at a double-release for both courses in a couple of days.

Both of these courses cover designing Forms in FrontPage. FP201 focuses on Form basics, and building a user feedback form for your web site. FP202 goes into more advanced form concepts, such as an order-entry form, and building forms from scratch. They're both excellent courses for learning how to make your web sites interactive.

Hint: if you're interested in learning how to develop web sites using FrontPage, but haven't gotten started yet, pick up a copy of our FrontPage 101 course before these two new ones are released - and you'll qualify for a FREE copy of either one of them! See our Specials page for details.

8/16/04 We have a new online poll question: do you like the new course handbooks that we've been developing, or should we devote our time and resources to creating more video courses? Let us know what you think. Click here to vote in our online poll.
8/12/04 Sorry I haven't posted any updates here in a few days. I've been real busy preparing the next new release: FrontPage 201. The course should be ready and online in the next couple of days.
8/9/04 The HTML 101 Handbook is now online and available for download for MYOLP members, and those of you who have purchased it already.

Also today, we've added one of the HTML 101 lessons to the Demo Lessons Page. If your curious about this course, feel free to check it out. The web site was also updated with all of the detailed outlines and other information about the HTML 101 course.

8/7/04 HTML 101 is now available for purchase on the Order Page. We're in the process of updating the web site today to get the course outline and other information in place, so if you're curious as to what this course covers, the outline should be up later today. Also, the handbook for HTML 101 is nearly completed, and we expect to have that posted to the downloads section by Monday morning (or tomorrow if my wife lets me work on Sunday - just kidding honey).
8/5/04 HTML 101 is finished, edited, and online. The course is available for download for MYOLP members, and will be available for sale to the general public by tomorrow. We're finishing up the handbook for the course tonight and tomorrow morning, and hope to have that available by tomorrow as well.

I've receive a couple of emails from folks asking why we always put the course up for MYOLP members first. Well, basically we put the course in the Downloads section as soon as it's ready. Since MYOLP members have full, unlimited access to the downloads, they can download it immediately. However, before we can make it available to the general public, we have to update the web site (and our online shopping cart system) so people can actually buy it. So, while the file is there, it sometimes takes us an extra day or two to get everything else ready to be able to offer it to the public. It's like a book store getting their shipment in... but the books are in boxes in the back room. We basically need to make shelf space for them.

8/4/04 The videos for HTML 101 are finally all recorded. The course is about 75 minutes long. I had a lot of fun recording this class. When you get spoiled by using a "point and click" editor like FrontPage to work on your web sites, you forget a lot of the basic HTML stuff. It was a good refresher for me, and if you work on web sites at all, I'm sure you'll enjoy this. Even if you're a first-time web page designer, this course will give you a great head start on editing HTML... the backbone of all web pages.

The videos have to go through a final review (which means, yes, I actually sit down and watch my own courses before they're released). I expect to do this tomorrow morning and have the course posted to the downloads section tomorrow afternoon. MYOLP members will be able to download it then. Also, tomorrow, I expect to finish the Handbook for the HTML 101 course and have that and the course itself ready for a Friday release. As soon as it's done, I'll send out a New Release email update to all of our customers.

8/3/04 Work continued today on the HTML 101 course. We are expecting it to be completed tomorrow or Thursday. If you've been taking our FrontPage courses, this is a good course to take to learn how to use HTML. We'll show you some FrontPage-specific tips in this class too. Even if you've never used a web page editor (or don't use FrontPage) this course has been designed to be generic... not editor specific.

The voting for the next course is close. After HTML (which won this week's vote) and FrontPage (which will be the next release or two), here are the current top five leaders:

  • 5.5% - Photoshop
  • 5.0% - Access
  • 4.7% - Word
  • 4.5% - Excel
  • 4.1% - Windows
  • 3.4% - PC Maintenance
  • 3.4% - Photoshop Elements
  • 3.3% - Using a Digital Camera
  • 3.3% - Visual Basic
  • 3.2% - PowerPoint

That means that out of everyone who voted, Photoshop was selected by 5.5% of all users voting. Access was selected by 5.0%, and so on. As you can see, the race is pretty tight. If you haven't voted yet, make sure you get over to the Online Poll page and cast your vote.

Also, we're considering setting up some message boards (forums) here on the site to allow you to interact with other users, ask questions, and have general discussion. We'll probably have a forum for each program type (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) Do you think this is something you would participate in? We'd like to hear from you if so. Send an email to [email protected] and let us know your thoughts on the subject.

8/1/04 Our monthly Computer Training Update has been published. This update digests everything we've been doing for the past month (see below) plus all of the new stuff coming out in the coming month. Check it out, and let me know what you think.
