Sending Email With Word By Richard Rost 16 years ago Q: I have a new computer with Vista installed. I need to know how to send an attachment to an e-mail when the attachment was prepared on Word? Also if you have any courses for the Vista system, please let me know. Thank you. Jerry B. Q:A problem I have, which you may wish to address in a lesson sometime is this, my email looks bad. I can write an attractive letter, with photos and graphics, and then Yahoo messes it up. When I examine and try to use Word>File>Send to>... I get nowhere. I cannot seem to send an embedded photo. I believe this problem could be related to large high quality digital images. But I cannot find a way to downsize and make the process more efficient. Furthermore, Microsoft offers no help with email problems (surprised?). Thanks, Jeff A:Jeff, I'm assuming you're using Word 2000-2003. The problem could be a couple of things... First of all, if you're using Yahoo, their software might be mucking things up for you. Have you tried just using Microsoft Outlook and a GMail account? Another thing to look at would be the size of your images. Sure, REALLY large image files might corrupt your email. I wouldn't send any images larger than 1 MB through email... and I'd keep my total email size under 3 MB. Email just wasn't designed for transmitting LARGE files. It's inefficient. Perhaps if you can send me over what you're trying to email, I'll take a look at it.
