The first day of voting results are in. With just over 500 of you (my lovely customers) voting, so far just about HALF of you have said you're still using Office 2003 (or older).
2003: 57%
2007: 36%
Other: 7%
I was surprised by some of your comments. More than a few of you said you would NEVER upgrade to 2007 because of the "idiotic new Ribbon toolbar." Some of you consider it a "downgrade."
I'm really surprised by the number of people who said they're still using Office 2000 or even 97. Wow. Good for you! I've always been an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of guy myself. I only upgrade to new versions because I have to (it's my job).
The "other" category had a lot of comments too. A lot of people are using non-Microsoft office suites, free programs like OpenOffice, or even the Mac.
I'll keep you posted as the votes come in. Maybe I'll post some of the more colorful comments too. :)
Oh... and if you haven't gotten your invitation to vote yet, check your INBOX, but be patient if you haven't received it. As of right now, only about half of the email invites have gone out yet. I'm staggering the email blast over a week so I don't overload my server with votes like I did last time I did a poll in November.
I don't want to post the link here, because I only want PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS voting.
