I'm currently in the process of moving some of my secondary domains to a new web hosting service. If you try to play a video, download a file, or visit a page that's not working, that could be the problem.
The main domain affected by this is amicron1.com. So if you try to access something and the domain says amicron1.com, just try changing it to amicron2.com (leave the rest of the URL intact) and that should fix the problem.
Other domains that are affected are some of the ones mentioned in my videos that I use for my different "brands" of tutorials:
- PhotoshopLearningZone.com
- VBLearningZone.com
- WindowsLearningZone.com
- WordLearningZone.com
- MicrosoftAccessTutorial.com
These, and a few others, are currently offline while I wait the outrageously long 7 days for the domain registrar to process the switch.
Why the move? Well, you see, I like to host my videos and download files on a separate web server from my main server (the one that hosts 599CD.com) to keep the traffic low and minimize bandwidth use on my primary server.
For a few years now, I've used 1&1 for this web hosting. Well, I'm no longer happy with 1&1. If you want to know the reason why, perhaps I'll go into detail in a future post, but for now let's just say they've angered me.
So, I'm moving the domains that were at 1&1 to a new web hosting provider. I've decided to go with GoDaddy.com. The problem is that it takes up to 7 days for these domains to transfer over, and there may be some "outage" in the middle.
I've added the new amicron2.com domain and have moved most of the files over there, but I'm just waiting for the switch for amicron1.com (and those other domains) to go through. So, in the mean time, we might have to deal with a little bit of outage.
Don't you just love technology?
