One of the things that users have complained about that it's a pain in the behind to constantly have to keep logging in to the web site. Whether you're using the Forums, the Theater, or just checking your account information, the web site loses your info as soon as you close your browser.
Normally I could just use a simple cookie to store your login information in your browser HOWEVER being the geek that I am, I have three separate databases that track everything. The Forums, your User Account, and the Theater all use separate databases - and logins.
Well, I'm working on a unified solution right now - a single form that you can log in with AND STAY LOGGED IN. It will remember you from visit to visit (as long as you don't have cookies disabled) and you won't have to provide your credentials to check your account, download your lessons, watch courses in the Theater, or post in the Forums.
RIGHT NOW, I have the logon form built and I have it set up to work with the Forums and the customer service form. I'll be slowly adding more functionality to it in the coming days - as I get some spare time. I've been busy with Access tutorials... but I can only record video so many hours in the day before I start pulling my hair out. :)
If you'd like to TRY the new logon form, please be my guest. Let me know how it works for you. Here's the link:
- NEW LOGON FORM
Once you log in, you should see a new blue user account bar appear at the top of every page on the site. Soon this will have additional menu items up there, notices, messages, etc. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
