SummaryToday's video from Photoshop Learning Zone focuses on intermediate techniques for fixing damaged photographs. I am Richard Rost, your instructor for this course. The main goal for this lesson is to help you correct various problems you may find in your photographs, such as scratches, poor color quality, or unwanted objects that you want to remove. To handle these challenges, I will walk you through several useful tools in Photoshop. We will cover the clone stamp tool, the healing brush, the patch tool, the pattern stamp tool, how to create your own patterns, and ways to fix red eye problems. Before you take this class, I strongly suggest that you complete Photoshop 101, 102, and 103. This lesson continues from the techniques and skills developed in those earlier courses. In this class, I am using Adobe Photoshop 7 on a Windows XP system. The specific version of Windows you use is not important, and most of the examples demonstrated will work in nearly every version of Photoshop. To get the most out of this lesson, I recommend watching each segment first in its entirety, then watch it again and follow along step by step, applying the skills to the same examples. Doing these exercises along with me will help you learn the material much more effectively. There are sample files available for this class, which you can use for practice as you follow the lessons. Because there are many sample images, they were placed on our website rather than included with the CD. You can find all the files at 599c.com on the Photoshop 201 page. I will also show how to download them during the class. Above all, try to make this a fun experience. After working through the provided exercises, I encourage you to try out the editing techniques on your own photos. Chances are you have pictures at home with issues you would like to fix. You can find a complete video tutorial with step-by-step instructions on everything discussed here on my website at the link below. Live long and prosper, my friends.
