Subscriptions By Richard Rost New On-Site Subscriptions & Notifications Subscriptions are to notify you of any new activity on any page, course, product, or Forum that you are interested in. Any time there is any updated content, you will receive a site notification. You can subscribe to pretty much any page on the site (Forums, course pages, TechHelp videos, etc.) and be notified if there are any updates or comments posted. Anywhere you see the red subscribe button or link, click on it. Any time you post in a Forum or make a comment on a page, such as a course lessons page, you will automatically be subscribed to that Forum/page. You will get an on-site notification in the user bar at the top of the site, and if you have unread notifications older than 24 hours you'll get an email. Watch the video for complete details. More features to come as I get the time. Access your Subscriptions here.
IntroThis page explains the new on-site subscription feature available across the website, allowing you to subscribe to updates on forums, TechHelp posts, course pages, and more. You will learn how to use the subscribe button to receive notifications for new posts directly on the site, manage your subscriptions, unsubscribe from pages, and understand the difference between the new on-site notifications and the older email-based system. The automatic subscription when you comment on pages is also covered, making it easier to keep track of discussions that matter to you.TranscriptGreetings, everyone. I just wanted to share with you another new feature here on the website. We now have on-site subscriptions available, so you can subscribe to pretty much any page that you want to on the entire site. Whether it's a forum, a TechHelp post, or even a course page, you can subscribe. Let's say, for example, the Access Beginner 1 lessons page. Scroll all the way down to the bottom, and any page where you see this big subscribe button, just click on that. That will take you to the update notification. Now, there are two different ways you can get notifications. The new system here is the on-site subscribe. What that means is you'll see a notification pop up right here if there are any new posts on that page that you want to subscribe to, like the Access forum or a particular class page. Or if anyone makes a comment on one of your posts or likes one of your posts. Those kinds of things. You'll see a notification pop up on the site. If you have any notifications that you haven't seen in 24 hours, the system will send you one email. This is opposed to the other subscribe option that I've had on here for years. If you subscribe to a page this way, every time there's a new post, the system sends out an email. I'm going to be phasing this one out to cut down on the number of emails that we send out. So I recommend you do this - hit the subscribe button. It'll ask if you want to be notified whenever Access Beginner 1 Lessons is updated. Say yes, hit submit, and then here's your list of subscriptions. These are all the pages that I've subscribed to. You can see that one right there. If you want to unsubscribe from something, here's the unsubscribe link over here. If you want to go right to it, you can pick one of these and just click on it, and it'll take you to your subscriptions. Some of the pages have the subscribe link up on the top. Some have it on the bottom. You will also automatically be subscribed to any page that you post a comment on. So if you come down here and start a new conversation, you'll be subscribed to that page automatically. This is a new function. I hope you guys enjoy it. I appreciate any comments or feedback that you have about it. Let me know, and thanks. See you real soon. QuizQ1. What is the main purpose of the new on-site subscription feature?A. SummaryI am excited to share a new feature that has just been added to the website. Now you can subscribe directly to almost any page across the site. This includes forums, TechHelp posts, and even course pages. For example, if you are interested in the Access Beginner 1 lessons page, you simply scroll to the bottom of that page and look for the large subscribe button. Whenever you come across this button on any page, you can subscribe to receive updates. There are now two different ways you can receive notifications. The new system is called on-site subscription, which means that whenever there are new posts on the page you are subscribed to, such as activity in the Access forum or a specific course page, you will see a notification pop up directly on the site. This will also happen if someone comments on your post or likes it. If you have unread notifications after 24 hours, the system will send you a single email as a reminder. Previously, there was an email-based subscription where every new post generated a separate email. I am planning to phase this method out to reduce the overall number of emails being sent. I recommend you use the new system by clicking the subscribe button and agreeing to be notified of updates to the page you are interested in. Once you subscribe, you can view a list of all your subscriptions. If you ever wish to unsubscribe from a page, there is an unsubscribe link for each subscription. Some pages have the subscribe link at the top, while others have it at the bottom. Additionally, if you post a comment on any page, you will automatically be subscribed to that page so you can follow any future activity. This is a brand new function on the website, and I hope you enjoy using it. Your comments and feedback are very welcome. Thank you for being part of the community, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. You can find a complete video tutorial with step-by-step instructions on everything discussed here on my website at the link below. Live long and prosper, my friends.
