There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.
Quick update today. I had some oral surgery last week, and right now I'm either in too much pain to talk or too loopy from the hydrocodone to get anything useful done.
A few months ago, I had a tooth pulled and a bone graft put in so I could eventually get an implant. That all went fine. But last week, they opened it back up to install... well, I don't actually know what it's called. The plug? The post? The pre-thing before the crown part? Whatever. It looked good at first, but after a couple days, the whole area swelled up and started hurting like crazy. So now I'm on amoxicillin, hoping it clears up. If not, I'll be back in the oral surgeon's chair Monday asking, "What the hell is this?"
The good news is I got ahead by a week or so on my TechHelp video recordings. So even though I haven't put anything new out the last couple days, at least the machine hasn't completely ground to a halt. I'll get back on track as soon as I can string together a sentence without wincing or zoning out halfway through.
Wouldn't it be great if we had a Star Trek tricorder by now? Just wave it over your jaw and it says, "Implant site infection, treat with dermal regenerator and a shot of inaprovaline." Maybe in another hundred years. In the meantime, it's antibiotics and painkillers and hoping for the best.
Thanks for your patience. I'll be back soon. Hopefully with fewer pills and more Access.
Would hate to have to have future videos narrated by HAL or even WOPR, lol.
"I'm sorry Richard, I can't query CustomerT right now... but, would you like to play a game,"
Sorry, going stir crazy. On a trip from OH to IL for my nephew's wedding and was told our Airbnb didn't have internet or Wi-Fi so didn't bring a laptop so just staring at my phone thinking of all the coding I could be doing beforehand.

I had oral surgery tooth pulled in February to get dental clearance for March open heart surgery to replace or (luckily) repair a leaky mitral valve (backwards flowing dirty blood).
Keep using a towel wrapped ice pack to reduce swelling and numb pain.
Open it back up again.
Suture close it.
Medicate it.
Ice it.
Feel better again.
