At the heart of science is an essential balance between two seemingly contradictory attitudes--an openness to new ideas, no matter how bizarre or counterintuitive they may be, and the most ruthless skeptical scrutiny of all ideas, old and new.

Workin' on Workin'

Back from vacation and buried under the mountain of customer service emails that piled up while I was gone. I'm working through them today as fast as I can. If you don't hear from me today, you likely will tomorrow.

I get a short break this afternoon for the privilege of having dinner with my good friend Sami, but after that it's right back to the office to keep hammering through support and also record tomorrow's TechHelp video since the queue is empty after today.

Funny thing about vacations: before you leave, you do double the work to get ahead (I recorded two weeks of videos), but once you're back, it's like none of that mattered because you instantly have to fight to catch up. So you really can't win. Add in the actual travel, and I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation.

But hey, that's the life of a solo operation.

Thanks for your patience, folks - I'm getting there.

Yes, and I can't help hearing "Ceptain's Log" in Chekov's voice. :)

Maybe your next, next project could be a home AI trained with all your videos, courses, comments, etc.  Once "deployed", the AI could cover for you during your next vacation.  LLAP!!!  :-)

Well, I do have an AI customer service bot that is programmed with about 90% of the questions people ask the most. Problem is that remaining 10%. I used to have to spend hours every day on customer service. Now I've got it down to about 20-30 min a day which I don't mind.
