There are no limits when you are surrounded by people who believe in you, or by people whose expectations are not set by the short-sighted attitudes of society, or by people who help to open doors of opportunity, not close them.
Last night I was sitting in my living room with my laptop next to me, thinking it would be nice to keep an eye on what posts are coming into the forums. I wanted a simple way to watch comments in real time as they come in so I can jump in and help if needed. That led to an idea for a live view. Just a small window that refreshes every 30 seconds or so and shows the most recent comments on the site.
So I built it. Its very simple and not flashy at all. It just loads, refreshes itself, and shows the latest public comments. If you are like me and you like to keep an eye on whats going on, or you want to catch interesting questions (and answers) as they pop up, its a handy little thing you can leave open on your desktop or even on your phone.
Heres the link: LiveView. Let me know what you think.
I like it...and happened to notice you're still playing with it. Glad it wasn't available before...would have driven myself nuts wishing/hoping for replies on my recent string problem. I'll use it to try to help out where I can if I can but it seems like I'm out of my depth as a helper for now.
Yeah, I'm already finding that it's more distracting than not. I might have to turn it off when I'm recording videos because I keep looking over at it. It's just a new toy for me for now, I guess. But I hope in the long run it helps me to be more involved in the forums.
And you're never out of your depth. I'm sure you'll find some questions that you'll be able to post answers for. Everyone started somewhere, and there are people at every step along the way.

Oh don't worry, I'm not gonna let it stop me from trying. I have found a ton of enjoyment (and frustration) in building stuff in access and learning what I have so far. In the meantime have fun playing.
