Microsoft released SQL Server Management Studio 22.11.0 on October 13. The update fixes a bug that could prevent a new query window from opening with a "Value cannot be null" error, restoring a basic step in everyday SQL development.
SQL Formatter now preserves inline-comment order and avoids incorrectly adding AS when the column-alias setting is Preserve. The release also fixes the single-line Toggle Line Comment shortcut and stops Object Explorer Details from duplicating database entries after settings changes.
Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance connections gain Microsoft Entra Integrated authentication support when Web Account Manager is disabled. Microsoft also reports faster startup of the Modern Connection Dialog and a fix for incomplete subscription lists. See the official SSMS release notes for the changes in this desktop management tool.
