Your tribute is an Honorable Farewell to Patrick Stewart.
He was a true role model to me as well. Both of my grandfathers had passed before I was born and while my father was in my life, we had a mostly strained relationship up until a few years before he passed.
Seeing Captain Picard both stoic, and compassionate, honorable and fierce and everything in between resonated for me. And then seeing him several times on late night shows such as Arsenio Hall and seeing his persona there truly showed that it was more than an act. Later he played outstandingly in X-Men. And even when he played the villain in Charlie's Angels his natural character almost made it hard to believe his character was the bad guy.
As for the episode, "The Inner Light", I think part of what it so touching was not only the well written story and excellent acting, but the true connection between Patrick and his son in the episode who is in fact Patrick Stewart's real son, Daniel.
Again, a great tribute! And may his Inner Light shine forever through his works and how he touched all of us.
