While Outlook is a good product and I use it all the time, I would prefer not to depend on it in Access. I have two databases that use CDO because if these databases get passed on to other people in the future, the databases have no dependencies on other software, other than Windows utself. Any technique that does not depend on other software would be welcome. Reading email would also be useful if you have time and others are interested. Regards from a cool but sunny south coast of England where Spring has definitely sprung.

Yep, I'll be showing CDO as the generally "best" method to use because of a lack of dependency on Outlook or object libraries. It has a few drawbacks, but it generally works great. READING email will probably be just in Outlook, however. Without Outlook you'd basically need to build a whole mail client using Winsock or some other tool - and that's way beyond the scope of this class. Regards from Southwest Florida.
