What I Liked: Richard speaks clearly, is organized, and goes to great extents to sequence his instruction. He engages in multi-modal instruction to good advantage.
What I Did Not Like: Software is in a constant state of flux. Versions replace versions. These volatile changes in software design interfere with the cohesiveness and flow of the tutorials.
How to Make Better: I don't have enough information at this time to evaluate how the courseware can be made better. Richard seems to be doing an extraordinary job of making order out of chaos in a technology industry that changes every day.
Comments: Richard Rost is a gifted teacher. His knowledge of software applications is surpassed only by his enthusiasm to learn and educate both himself and his students. I am impressed by Richard's flaming passion to draw the learner out of the cave of ignorance and into the light of computer technology.
Wow. Thanks for your very eloquent words. I had to post this one. You made my day with your comments.
Yes, software is in a constant state of flux. It's sometimes hard to keep up with all of the changes. I'm at a position now where I need to re-record Access Beginner 1 AGAIN because the minor changes confuse new users. Not to mention my Word, Excel, and PowerPoint classes are very old too. It's a struggle to do that and keep up with making new Developer lessons, which is where most of my business comes in.
Thanks again! It's nice for someone to recognize my "flaming passion." ;)

Mr. Rost,
This may sound like hyperbole in my description of you but it is not intended to be such. If you took the pure and unadulterated energy that you put into your computer learning projects and devoted that same energy to something like playing the violin you would impress the genius violinist Bach himself!
I wish you every success in your learning and teaching endeavors.
I appreciate that very much, Tony. I actually do play piano, although I'm no Beethoven. I was in a rock band in my youth. I think that's where my desire to perform comes from. :)

Rick,
You currently play the piano and you used to be in a rock group ... impressive ... sounds to me then that it was inevitable you'd find yourself in the "public eye" sooner or later ... in this case your role now is that of entrepreneur, pathfinder and teacher ... different performer, same stage ... you see, in the last analysis, you're still an entertainer, still in show business, my friend! Bravo!
