I’m trying to calculate minutes between to entered times. I have two columns, column 1 is a start time, column 2 is an end time. This is entered by the end-user. I've also got a 3rd column that shows the difference between the start time and end time in minutes. When I get to a difference in time from 12:00 to 1:00 it reads the 1:00 time as AM and does not give me the correct answer. How do I make it not see the 1:00 as AM without having to type in AM or PM for all my entries. The formula I use for the AM subtractions is: =HOUR(B9-B8#*60+MINUTE#B9-B8). I'm using Excel 2003. Any ideas? Thanks. Answer from Richard Rost:
There are many different techniques in Excel you can use to break apart dates or times into their component parts, add or subtract dates, and figure out how much time is elapsed between two dates.
