I am trying to set up a different/smaller page header for additional pages, 2- whatever. The problem is that the first page header margin duplicates itself on the next page. This takes up precious room on the page. How can I change this?

To set up different page numbering schemes inside your document, you need to set up SECTION BREAKS. See this tutorial:
