How will the =MATCH(B1,A:A,0) formula have to be changed if there are dubicates in either column A or Columnb B. I run into this all the time.

This formula, as it stands won't determine duplicates. It will only indicate whether or not the item is in the list. Of you want to catch duplicates, you can always use the Data > Remove Duplicates feature.
