Could Access replace QBCM? It's not supported anymore, and we are to the point that entering a new customer takes 15 minutes for basic info and we're possibly losing data. Been in business for 20+ yrs, all the CRM's I've looked at have way too much fluff and I'm the one that will have to train the "old dogs" the new system. Thanks S_E

I'm assuming you are speaking about Quick Books Customer Manager. Correct?
The short answer is No and Yes.
If you are looking for an open the box and start using it solution, then No, Access isn't for you.
On the other hand, if you are wanting to build your own application to have the exact tools you want and need to manage your day to day data needs, then Yes. Access COULD be able to replace something like that. Be aware that in doing so, you are potentially looking at a pretty substantial learning curve as well as time investment to develop such a database.
Yes, as Scott suggested, if you aim to construct your own solution, Access is certainly the route to pursue. However, the complexity of your requirements plays a crucial role. If you merely need to store basic details like customer name, address, and phone number, you could establish such a system in Access within 20 minutes or even utilize one of my templates. Even my free TechHelp customer contact template would suffice for most businesses. Now, integrating this with QuickBooks and incorporating the accounting data is a completely different ball game.
