Is the ribbon used more often in business than building a menu to launch forms and reports? I see that in your tech help videos you prefer the use of form menus. I know it takes an understanding of xml to build a custom ribbon in Access. Your professional opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Patrick,
The way Richard does menu forms, which is something I have adopted fully, gives you total control of the look and feel, total control on security, as well as full use of the canvas versus the limited area of the ribbon. Add to that the ability to include important information, other than the menu buttons.
For me, there is no question about the value of menu forms over the ribbon.
Yeah, I definitely prefer making menu forms. It's a whole lot easier. I do cover customizing the ribbon starting an Access Developer 44, and as my students will tell you, it's a big pain in the behind to make custom ribbons.
