Hello, I have made a query in access that is being used to calculate and present heating load calculations for an HVAC system. This system uses multiple roof top heating units all of which have their own calculation to find the total heating load they must provide. Each heating load total is found through various H-values with the grand load being the sum of all H-values related to that room or unit. What I would like to be able to do is have a totals ROW in my query that adds up all of the H-values in a given column called Htotal. When I change my query to only include one room, the totals function in the records box works fine, however if I try to include a second or third room it simply calculates every H value regardless of what room it is related to. I want to have multiple totals rows in my query that show only the H totals for units that share the same room number. Can someone please advise if there is a feasible way to do this? I have tried creating a module that codes this into my query but have been unsuccessful thus far' I am very new to VBA as this is my first time attempting something like this.
Without knowing more about how your databases set up it's difficult to give you help. It sounds to me like you're using DSUM instead of just a SUM aggregate function. But again, without SEEING your setup, I really can't tell.
