Future AI

I thought a lot about what Elon Musk has recently said that with AI in future we don't need any job. Well, I suppose then let's AI work and we have fun. Seriously is that what we want? My son who is seventeen says well the money and currency will disappear and every product you need will be for free. Wow...

AI will displace some jobs, but it will create others. The same happened with computers, the automobile, the industrial revolution, etc. The days of a utopian society where no one has to work are far in the future, if ever.

I will work every day even if I don't need to.

It's not really work if you love what you do. :)

I am a great fan of Norman Chomsky
He said a keyword in the short article he called the human mind, elegant, and its solutions.

Say what you want about Richard one thing he does better than most is how elegant his solutions are. I am a fan..

Love me some Noam. There are a few quotes from him in the website ticker...

"If we don't believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don't believe in it at all."

"It is important to bear in mind that political campaigns are designed by the same people who sell toothpaste and cars."

"You never need an argument against the use of violence, you need an argument for it."

"The purpose of education is to show people how to learn for themselves. The other part of it is that you need to reach that state of independence and self-reliance."

"The goal of education should not be to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things."

"Students who acquire large amounts of knowledge but do not know what to do with it or how to apply it for the common good have wasted their education."

"Education is a system of imposed ignorance. Teachers should be guides and facilitators, not taskmasters who impose fixed knowledge."

I had an ah-hah moment in the third grade. We were to bring a bunch of junk from home to school in a box. After that, the teacher said, "Now make something with it."

I set to work creating a "robot". After about ten minutes I realized the fruitlessness of my effort to the assignment. This pile of junk was not going to be a robot any more than I was going to be king of the world.

One of my favorite quotes: "This kid's going places. Not college... but places."

@ Richard, My dad, a junior high math teacher, had hundreds of such sayings. A few of which got him in trouble with parents and the principal.
