The method we used to descend from orbit to the surface of an alien world worked, but it would have been far more efficient and far less traumatic if we could just beam down.

Back in the Saddle

It's good to be home. After a crazy week of delays and cancelations, I'm finally back.

It's nice to sleep in my own bed again and, for me at least, it's nice to be back in the office. I don't consider what I do 'a job' or 'work' because I truly love what I do for a living. I actually miss it when I'm away for too long.

We were supposed to be gone five days. Just a little trip to go swim with some penguins in Kansas. Thanks to that 'little' kerfuffle involving some 'minor' computer glitch, Delta Airlines had us stranded for an extra six days. Oh well. It happens. I'm home now. That's what's important.

Anyhow... I've got a few things to catch up on today and I'm going to do my best to get a video out today as well - even if it's just a Quick Queries. But I'm not going anywhere else until the end of September, so I've got plenty of time to get some videos recorded, and work on some other projects I've had on the back burner for far too long.

Welcome Back :). Did you find anything fun to do for those 6 extra days at least or just stuck sitting around?

It is not the same without our Captain at the helm. Welcome back.

Well, we did eat at a bunch of new, cool restaurants both in Kansas and Atlanta. I'll be reviewing them eventually. I don't know if you guys know this about me, but I'm a pretty prolific Google Reviewer. They even sent me a little pin when I reached Level 5. LOL. Follow me on Google if you want to see future reviews.

But aside from that and the Atlanta Aquarium, we pretty much just relaxed in our hotel. Slept a lot. Spending 12 hours in the airport will wipe you out the whole following day too. It would be fine if they would just tell you at 1pm, "your flight's canceled." OK. No biggy. We can go get some lunch and find something else to do today.

But noooo.... 1pm DELAYED. 3pm DELAYED. 6pm DELAYED. 9pm DELAYED. 11pm DELAYED. 1am DELAYED. 2:30am CANCELED.

So now we just wasted a whole friggin day at the airport and are emotionally and physically exhausted, which will completely waste the next day too.
