Well, we're supposed to fly out Thursday afternoon to visit family up north. I told them I'm never coming up there again once the snow starts to fly, so this is our annual "for the holidays" trip, early. Looks like the weather might have other plans.
The eye is supposed to stay out in the Gulf, but we'll still have pretty strong winds and rain here in Cape Coral and Fort Myers. Let's hope it's not strong enough to ground our flight.
Although, it's better to have your flight canceled when you're still at home than what happened to us a few months ago when we got stuck in Kansas and Atlanta. That was awful.
And to make matters worse, I just got in a car accident. I'm fine. Car is not. Sooooo.... yeah.
But, one thing I've learned in my 51 years on this rock... shit happens. It's just a car.

Glad you're okay. Hope the weather holds off until you get your flight out. I've only flown twice. The first time a woman at the Dallas airport tried (and almost succeed) in kidnapping my daughter. She was almost out the last door when I spotted them. Never been so scared in my life, and never go over it. The owner of my favorite restaurant always knew I needed a table where I could see the bathroom when my daughter got to be a teenager, and even then I would still nearly have a panic attack if she was in there longer than I thought it should take.
@ Sandra, my son, when three, would hide inside the clothes of a circular clothes rack of department stores, and not come out until he saw security looking for him. He thought it was just another great game of hide-and-seek. Grrrr!
I can't say how many times he had my heart in my throat, even if pales to your experience (thank goodness).

@Richard My accident, on a motorcycle, with my son, was almost yesterday. A government employee in a big government SUV thought the stop sign didn't apply to him. He sped off. When I followed him to his office, he just stated, "No big deal, nothing happened." Nothing happened because I managed to stop a few inches before he would have creamed us.
