Windows 8 Interface
Bill Foster

I really like Windows 8, enough so that I purchased a Surface RT for my first tablet!  It does take some gettin used to using and it takes some thought still when switching from desktop to tablet and reversed.  Overall I just think the naysayers are too lazy.  Ever notice how most folks complain easy but complement difficult?

Reply from Richard Rost:

I think that the "Modern" or "Metro" interface is GREAT for tablets and phones... but I don't think it's the best for traditional desktop and laptop PCs. Yes, the line between the two is blurring and I see a day when ALL screens will be touch-enabled... but I don't like how Microsoft just throws you into the deep end, expecting you to swim without any floaties. There's NO REASON they had to completely axe the Start Menu. They should have given PC users the OPTION to switch to the new Start Screen. I felt this way about the Ribbon when it came out in 2007 too. There's no reason Microsoft couldn't have given you the OPTION to stick with the old menus.
