I'm OK! By Richard Rost Thanks to Everyone Who Asked. Just Took a Much-Needed Break. I want to let everyone know that yes I am OK. I haven't posted anything on my YouTube channel or my website since last Friday and I received about 5,000 emails and comments from people asking if I'm OK. I'm very touched by the outpouring of concern. Thank you very much to everyone who asked. The fiance and I were just very much burned out from moving and we decided to take a little mini vacation to Las Vegas. We planned a few weeks ago. Normally I tried to queue up videos ahead of time to have them ready for release if I'm planning on being busy for a few days but in this case we just got so busy with moving and different appointments and then all of the sudden vacation just snuck up on me and I was too burned out to record a few days worth of material so I had nothing ready for you. But rest assured I am fine. I am back in the office. And I'm working right now on releasing lots of new stuff. The problem is the vacation that we took to relax from our burnout actually burned us out more. We had an absolutely horrific flight experience thanks to American Airlines who I will never use again. We were supposed to have a 2 hours layover in Austin, Texas, but then American just decided to cancel our connecting flight to Vegas. This was on Thursday evening. They tried to rebook us for another flight on Saturday. Two days later. Who does that? I had tickets for shows and stuff in Vegas for Friday and Saturday and would have lost hundreds of dollars not to mention the aggravation involved. So of course I complained and barked up the ladder, and finally they booked us on a United flight Friday morning. But it was still an awful experience. I have always flown Delta before this and I will never stray away from them again. Sorry Delta for cheating on you. I went with American because the price was so much lower and you definitely get what you pay for. But after that debacle we did have a good time in Vegas. We got to see Sebastian Maniscalco who is one of our favorite comedians. We went to see Penn and Teller who I absolutely love. But you know how Vegas is. It's impossible to relax. We should have just planned a little beach vacation down here. LOL. My bad. So I'm going to start off by making some new TechHelp and Fast Tips videos because I've got nothing in the queue right now and that's my number one priority for my members. I want to get another ABCD video out, and of course another Access Developer lesson. And then as promised I'm going to start working on other topics such as Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL Server, and lots more. So you going to start to see those come out soon. So once again thank you very much. I'm so touched by all of your concern for me and your support. I try not to advertise what I'm going to be gone because I've always felt that that was an invitation for someone to come and rob my house. Even though I have a security system I've always been wary of not letting people know when I'm home. But maybe in the future I'll put something on the website like I'm not going to be posting videos for a couple days. I don't know we'll see. Okay thanks bye-bye back to work.

I just want to let everyone know that yes, I'm okay.I haven't posted anything on my YouTube channel or my website since last Friday, and I received about 5,000 emails (and I'm not exaggerating) and comments from people asking if I'm okay. I am extremely touched by the outpouring of concern. Thank you very much to everyone who asked. The fiancee and I were just very much burned out from moving, because we've been moving for the last month now, and we decided to take a little mini vacation to Las Vegas. And no, we didn't get married there. We planned this a few weeks ago, and I looked at her and I said, hey, we're kind of due for a vacation, and she's like, oh yeah, okay, how about Vegas? Oh yeah, great idea. Yeah, great idea. Normally, I try to queue up videos ahead of time to have them ready to release one a day if I'm planning on being busy for a few days. But in this case, we just got so busy with moving and different appointments we had with installers and different people and movers, and then all of a sudden vacation just kind of snuck up, and I was too burned out at that point to record a few days' worth of material because I know you guys are all about the quality. I don't want to rush something through. So I had nothing ready for you, but rest assured, I am fine, I'm back in the office, and I'm working right now to release lots of new stuff. The problem right now is that the vacation we took to relax from our burnout actually burnt us out more. We had an absolutely horrific flight experience thanks to American Airlines, who I will never use again. We were supposed to have a two-hour layover in Austin, Texas, but then American just decided to cancel our connecting flight to Vegas. They just canceled it, and this was on a Thursday evening. They tried to rebook us for another flight on Saturday, two days later, and we were only going for four days. I'm like, what's the point? I had tickets for shows and stuff in Vegas that I already pre-planned for Friday and Saturday night. I would have lost hundreds of dollars, not to mention all the aggravation involved. Of course, I complained and I barked up the ladder, and finally they booked us on a United flight Friday morning. We still had to stay overnight in Austin, though. We didn't sleep. We just went to the local Applebee's and stayed there until three in the morning, and then wandered around the airport for a couple of hours. But it was still an awful experience. Thank you, American Airlines. I have always flown Delta before this, and I will never stray away from them again. I am sorry, Delta, for cheating on you. I went with American because the price was a lot lower, and you definitely get what you pay for. But after that debacle, we did have a good time in Vegas. We got to see Sebastian Maniscalco, who is one of our favorite comedians, and we got to see Penn and Teller, who I've seen a bunch of times. I absolutely love Penn and Teller. That was her first time seeing them. But you know how Vegas is. It's impossible to relax. We should have just planned a little beach vacation down here for a couple of days. So that's my bad. You don't go to Vegas to relax. But getting back to work, I'm going to start off by making some new TechHelp and Fast Tips videos because I've got nothing in the queue right now, and that's my number one priority for my members. I want to get another ABCD video out. That's my business contact database, and it's vastly overdue. And of course, another Access Developer lesson. We got lots planned for that. Then as promised, I'm going to start working on other topics such as Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL Server, and lots more. And I think Adam wants some ASP lessons. So you're going to start to see these coming out real soon after I get a bunch of Access stuff done. Once again, thank you very much. I am so touched by all of your concern for me and your show of support. I try not to advertise when I'm going to be gone because I've always felt that it was an invitation for someone to come and rob my house. I know none of you would, but it's out there public. I don't know. Maybe I get that from my grandma. She was always worried. Ricky, don't tell your friends we're going to be gone for the week going on vacation. I don't want anyone to come and steal my doilies or whatever. Even though I have a security system, I've always been wary of that, not letting people know when I'm going to be home since my address is kind of public. But maybe in the future, I'll put something on the website like I'm not going to be posting videos for a couple of days because I'm going to be sleeping. I don't know. We'll see. Thanks again for your support. Bye bye. Back to work for me. QuizNo quiz available.SummaryThis is a brief update to let everyone know that yes, I am okay. I appreciate the outpouring of concern from everyone who noticed I had not posted anything new on my YouTube channel or my website since last Friday. I received thousands of emails and comments asking about my well-being, and I am truly touched by your care and support. The reason for my absence is that my fiancee and I have been exhausted from moving, which has gone on for about a month. We decided to take a much-needed break and went on a short vacation to Las Vegas—not to get married, just to get away for a bit. This was planned a few weeks ago, and we both agreed it was time for a vacation, so off to Vegas we went. Normally, if I know I will be busy, I try to have videos prepared in advance so I can continue releasing one per day. This time, however, our schedule was so packed with moving and appointments that I simply did not have the energy to record new material before we left. I would rather wait than rush something out of lower quality because I know you value high-quality content. So, I had nothing queued up for you while I was away. Rest assured, though, that I am back in the office and hard at work, getting plenty of new videos ready. Ironically, the vacation we took to unwind actually left us feeling even more tired. We also had a terrible travel experience, courtesy of American Airlines. Our initial layover in Austin, Texas, was supposed to be just two hours, but American canceled our connecting flight to Las Vegas without warning. Since we were only planning to stay four days, getting rebooked for a flight two days later was not an option. After a lot of hassle, I finally managed to get us booked on a United flight the next morning, but we had to spend a restless night in Austin, eating dinner late and wandering the airport until our new flight. This experience has definitely convinced me to stick with Delta Airlines in the future, since I only tried American because of the lower price, which just was not worth the trouble. Despite the rocky start, we ultimately had a nice time in Vegas. We saw Sebastian Maniscalco, one of our favorite comedians, and we enjoyed Penn and Teller as well, which is always a treat. However, Vegas was definitely not the relaxing vacation we probably needed. Next time, we will stick to something calmer, like a beach trip. Now that I am back, my first priority is to get new TechHelp and Fast Tips videos recorded, since there's nothing scheduled in the queue right now. I also plan to get another ABCD (business contact database) video out, which is long overdue. Plus, I will be continuing with the Access Developer lessons, which many of you have been waiting for. Looking ahead, I'm also going to shift some focus to other topics including Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL Server, and more. I know there have been requests for ASP lessons too, so those will be on the way after I get caught up with the Access material. Thank you all again for your support and concern. It means a great deal to me. I tend not to announce my absences ahead of time because I do not want to broadcast that my house will be unattended—even though I have a security system, it's something I've always been cautious about. Perhaps in the future, I'll post a note on the website if I ever need to take a break, just so everyone knows I am only away for a little while. Thank you once again for your understanding and encouragement. Now it's time for me to get back to work. Live long and prosper, my friends.
