Hi guys. I just wanted to take a few minutes to apologize for the lack of new material and updates over the past few weeks. I know it's been over a month since my last new class release. I just finished Access 16, and it's now available on the web site. I'm going to try to get Access 17 out next week, and a seminar by the end of the month.
The reason for the huge gap in classes is because I'm in the middle of moving cross-country from Buffalo NY to Florida, which has been a huge undertaking. We've lived in our current house for 17 years, so we had a LOT of stuff to go through and pack. It's taken a lot more of my time than I had planned. Plus, I've already make a couple of trips back and forth to the new house. Exhausting.
I'm currently back in Buffalo getting some more work done (including recording Access 16). Plus, I have to re-code some of the web site so that all of the user records are stored online. Right now, in order to log in, the web site has to talk to my Access database in my office to get your credentials. That all needs to be moved online so that I can tear down my office network and move it 1400 miles. I should have done this years ago, so this is the kick in the pants I've needed to get it done. Any of you who have experienced login problems will know that it's not the best solution, but it has worked OK for 10 years now.
Anyhow, I'm going to be in Buffalo for a few more days packing up more of my junk and then driving back down to Florida. Once I get settled, expect a LOT of new material to be coming out over the next couple of months. Heck, I don't know anybody in Florida, so I'll have nothing to do BUT work... so you'll all have to keep me company in the Student Forums (which are going to get redesigned soon, too).
I hope to be settled by next week and I'll be cranking out lots of new classes once that happens. Thanks for understanding. Thanks for your business. Most importantly, thanks for your continued support these past eleven years (hard to believe it's been that long!)
Plus, I'm excited to announce that starting next month, Alex is going to be taking a more active role helping out here on the site. He'll be helping everyone out in the Forums, with TechHelp, and lots more. That should free up a lot more of my time to do what I do best: making more lessons!
In addition, my son (Richard the Third, or as I've been calling him in emails, R3) has been helping me as a junior Access developer and has already built a couple of database projects for clients (so if you need a new database built, he's your man).
Plus, coming next month, my daughter Lauryn has decided to take a stab at helping me create some new videos. She's a Photoshop whiz, so we should see a lesson or two from her very soon. I like Photoshop, and I've made some lessons on it in the past, but it's not my passion. She's REAL good with Photoshop, so she's going to be updating all of my old PS lessons for the latest version. I'm looking forward to it.
OK... enough chatter... I'm going to go finish up posting Access 16 to the web site. I'll be back in touch real soon.
