Intro In lesson ASP 102, you will learn how to use variables and arrays, work with the Select Case statement, expand your understanding of loops, create subroutines and functions, typecast your variables, and use date and time functions in classic ASP. This class builds on the material from ASP 101 and uses standard ASP 3.0 on a Windows 2000 server with FrontPage 2003 as the editor.
Transcript Welcome to ASP 102 brought to you by ASPLearningZone.com. I am your instructor Richard Rost. In today's class, we are going to cover variables and arrays, the Select Case statement, more with looping, subroutines and functions, typecasting your variables, and date and time functions.

This class follows ASP 101, and I strongly recommend you take ASP 101 before watching this class. I will be using standard ASP 3.0 on a Windows 2000 server, and I will also be using FrontPage 2003 as my web editor. The web editor of your choice does not matter.

As always, I recommend you sit back, relax, and watch each lesson once completely through, then watch it a second time following along with the examples.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them in the student forums. If you are watching this class on our website or using our Amicron video player software while connected to the internet, you should see the student forums appear next to the videos. If not, go to the website and look for the link to the student forums for ASP 102.

Summary Today's video from ASP Learning Zone focuses on the next steps in learning classic ASP. In ASP 102, I will be teaching you about variables and arrays, using the Select Case statement, working further with loops, and introducing subroutines and functions. We will also go over how to typecast your variables and explore date and time functions.

This course is designed as a follow-up to ASP 101, so I highly recommend completing ASP 101 before starting this material. Throughout the class, I will be demonstrating everything using standard ASP 3.0 on a Windows 2000 server, and I'll be working in FrontPage 2003. However, any web editor that you prefer will be perfectly suitable for following along.

My suggestion for getting the most out of this course is to first watch each lesson in its entirety without interruption. After that, go through the lesson again, this time following along step by step with your own examples to reinforce what you are learning.

If any questions arise while you are going through the material, you are encouraged to post them in the student forums. If you are viewing this class on our website or using our Amicron video player software while connected to the internet, the forums should be visible right next to the video. Otherwise, you can find the link to the student forums for ASP 102 on our website.

You can find a complete video tutorial with step-by-step instructions on everything discussed here on my website at the link below. Live long and prosper, my friends.
