In your video "Archive Records: Archiving Old Data in your Microsoft Access Database", when you initially create the Archive Database file, can i assume that you are making a copy of the back-end file? So that the back-end file get smaller after the archive process? I'm slightly confused because it kinda looks like your using a non-split or front end database for the tutorial; i am still a novice at best with access so could be misunderstanding.
You also mention that when you archive then Compact and repair the database you get the Autonumbers back, does the Main Database revert back to using those 'recovered' Autonumbers, even if not all records were archived? I.e. i have 100 records, archive the first 80 (1-80) then compact and repair, will the next record in the main database be 101, or 1?
Thanks in advance.
Ben
